A Full-Service Gastroenterology Practice in Houston
Curative Digestive Disease Center is an independent gastroenterology and hepatology practice serving Houston and the surrounding communities. We handle the whole arc of digestive care in one place — the first consultation, the diagnostic procedure, the pathology read, and the treatment plan that follows — rather than sending you between separate facilities for each step.

Do you accept insurance, and what if I do not have any?
We accept most major insurance plans and verify your benefits before your visit. If you are uninsured, we offer transparent all-inclusive self-pay pricing, so you know the cost before anything is scheduled.
Can I be seen the same day?
Yes. We hold openings for same-day and next-day visits and we accept walk-ins. Call (713) 393-7744 and our team will find the earliest appointment that fits your situation.
Who will be treating me?
Care is led by Dr. Ahmad Farooq, a board-certified gastroenterologist and hepatologist trained at Yale School of Medicine and Duke University, supported by Dr. Ghulam Ilyas in in-house GI pathology, Dr. Anaum Maqsood in oncology, Dr. Marc F. Catalano in advanced endoscopy, and Dr. Larry Tong in anesthesiology.
Are procedures done on site or at a hospital?
Nearly everything is done in our own endoscopy suite — colonoscopy, EGD, endoscopic ultrasound, capsule endoscopy, and ERCP — and biopsies are read in house by our GI pathologist. That means fewer trips, faster results, and no separate hospital scheduling for most patients.
